Training Manager

The Sales Training and Professional Education Manager is responsible for developing content and implementing field sales training as well as evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives. Additionally, this role is responsible for developing content and awareness around the education of safety and efficacy across all products and services, with clinical advisors, teaching institutions, influential decision makers, potential customers, existing customers and employees. This role will consult with sales and marketing organizations in order to identify key clinical messaging and project medical marketing to both external and internal parties. The role will focus on customer & industry engagement while building strong internal bridges to create new competitive advantages through improvement of consistent application, knowledge and competencies. The Sales Training and Professional Education Manager will need to demonstrate an increase in team performance and effectiveness with an emphasis on high impact results.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

​

  • Establish the global vision and lead the Sales Training & Professional Education function in accordance with the overall mission and objectives of the organization.

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing leadership across the globe to develop strategic training curriculum including training objectives and content to support the sales organization.

  • Oversee the execution of a training needs analysis across different geographies to identify new skills and behaviors required in the sales organization by partnering with internal leadership.

  • Lead new hire training. Assess and make recommendation to the current curriculum to ensure alignment with the company objectives and to maximize efficiencies and learning objectives.

  • Take ownership in the coordination of on-boarding of new hires working collaboratively with the Sales Directors.

  • Monitor progress for 90-day onboarding plan and communicate progress with SDs.

  • Serve as subject matter expert who leads and facilitates technical training, sales skill training, neurovascular training, and company product training.

  • Create engaging content and manage training agenda for meetings with the leadership team.

  • Own and manage sales training budget, external consultants, interns or temporary employees as assigned.

  • Support field credentialing needs as needed.

  • Partner and coordinate with external vendors to translate training materials in accordance with company strategy and processes.

  • Support local territory, strategic, clinical, and team needs while not training new candidates nationally as directed by the Sales Directors, working in collaboration with the leadership team.

  • Develop and manage efficient, consistent, compliant, relevant programs and processes across geographic regions.

  • Maintain close working relationship with global commercial and R&D and actively seek input from all key stakeholders to ensure appropriate alignment & prioritization of activities and efforts.

  • Oversee the tracking and communication of key outputs, performance metrics, and accomplishments.

  • Key liaison with clinical and regulatory to act as risk/benefit arbitrator, policy advisor, and key opinion leader usage and management for all Professional Medical Education assignments.

  • Manage timelines, KOLs and activities.

  • Interface with thought leaders, teaching institutions and associations nationwide for the purpose of coordinating speaking engagements, enhancing corporate presence and promoting product capabilities and applications.

  • Regularly consults with senior management on matters concerning sales and marketing education.

Requirements:

​

  • BS/BA degree required, preferable in healthcare or related scientific discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years medical device experience, including 2 years of relevant clinical education/sales training experience in medical device; 5 years of experience in Neurovascular Medical Device industry preferred.

  • Experience developing, administrating, and managing a Learning Management System (LMS) including delivering of online learning modules. 

  • Experience creating multi-media, experiential rich content in blended learning/virtual environment (e.g., onsite classroom, virtual, field based).

  • Ability to apply fundamental concepts to conduct needs assessment and design innovative training programs to meet needs. 

  • Strong execution track record demonstrating quality results, on time and on budget.

  • Ability to successfully work cross functionally and with team members and vendors in the US and International markets. 

  • Self-directed, able to work independently and ability to handle multiple projects concurrently & function in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. 

  • Strong public speaking, written communication skills, and organization/project management skills required. 

  • Affinity for educating others and a demonstrated ability to simplify and articulate complex topics effectively.
